While it is not the intention of anyone who once worked at Salt7 or its owner, John Kostoglou, to perpetuate a sad situation, it seems a local news outlet is enjoying continuing to sensationalize the story. The story titled “No Proof, Just Blame: Salt 7 owner accuses ex-bartender after social media blast” from Local 10 news, is another hit piece, ignoring key facts. So, now the Salt7 Fort Lauderdale bartender accused of stealing video has been released.
This is one of several videos that have or will be provided to local law enforcement. The truth is a case has been opened and a detective assigned from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
The video is on a Salt7 Fort Lauderdale YouTube channel. Here is the link https://youtu.be/HD6smwKdytE so obviously there is proof.
It is indisputable from the surveillance video that former bartender, Cassie Crumbly, disconnects the two credit card readers on March 15 at the outside bar. This forced all the customers to have to pay in cash.
While there is a lot more video about what happens later to all that cash, we will not get ahead of any ongoing police investigation. Again, we want to emphasize there are more compelling videos showing what actually happened that day.
As anyone can see, this video is from a high quality 4k security system so there is no confusion as to what is happening.
As mentioned in a prior post, Salt7 had been sold during the bankruptcy proceedings. See story: https://salt7fll.com/what-happened-to-salt7-fort-lauderdale/
And Salt7 was denied dock access by the landlord after investing millions in a new yacht charter business.
Both key facts are left out of all the Local 10 stories. It is hard to believe that these are just harmless omissions.
This may be part of the reason that many people do not trust the media.
